Free and FUN Field Trip Idea

Bring your toddler or older baby to the fabric store. Let them feel all the fabrics.

Rules
1. Wash your hands first.
2. No eating.
3. Bring hand  wipes.
4. Feel ALL the fabrics, be ready for tactile overload!

Talk to your child the whole time about textures, colors, designs, and what it feels like.
We have taken this field trips NUMEROUS times.

Another Free and FUN Field Trip Idea

Go to the pet store!
Some allow you to touch and pet the animals.
Even if they do not, your child will be able to get a very close view of reptiles, birds, fish, cats, dogs and rodents.
It is like the zoo, but cheap, quick, and less lines! :-)

Your local Humane Society is another place to go and see animals.
I can't do this one because I would end up with too many animals!

How often does your child look up and say "AIRPLANE!" I guess that depends where you live!

From our house we have more then one choice for airport landing and departures strips. We drive to the BIG airport, get off on the frontage road, and park the car. There actually is a place for this and most of the other cars there are doing the same thing. Bring snacks and entertainment for between depatures and arrivals. We sit on the hood of our car to watch and yell "landing" and "taking off".

It is quite loud, you might think about bringing something to cover your childs ears if they are sensitive to noises, or park so you can sit in the front seats and look out the window.

We went to the airport again just yesterday but they did not want to get out of the car. They LOVED sitting in the driver and passenger seat while I climbed in the back. We had our lunch and watched the planes.
